Miracle Cure from
Death’s Door by
Our Lady of Fatima
by Adrianna Attar
My name is Adrianna Attar. I’m living here in California, and I have a miracle I want to share with you.
I come from a family of 11 children, and quite a few years ago, my younger brother Ricky, about 16 at the time, was diagnosed with leukemia. This came pretty strong for mom and dad and they were told that he only had a year to live.
Sadly, he became more sick every day. He used to go to City of Hope Hospital in California for treatment. As time went by, Ricky was spending more and more time at the hospital, and less and less time at home. It became very hard for my family but we all prayed very hard. And my mom never ceased to pray. She always went to Our Lady and begged Her for his recovery. She was in such a desperate state that, every church she passed, she would always stop in and pray.
One day, as Ricky became much worse, he got to the point where his digestive system stopped working and he had to remain at the hospital. We seemed to be ready for the end, but at the same time, there was still that little hope.
My mom was passing by a church at that time and she wanted to go in and pray. It was very dark inside and there were no images at all anywhere. She went to the office and was trying to ask the secretary if there was "Our Lady" anywhere, an image of Our Lady that she could pray to.
It was funny because the lady did not speak Spanish and my mom did not speak English, but somehow they communicated. So the secretary went into the storage room, and took out a big huge painting of Our Lady of Fatima. Mom was surprised that they had Her stored in that storage room but, nevertheless, she took the painting and went back into the hall or church, placed Her down on a chair, knelt down and began to pray the Rosary.
She asked Our Lady with all her heart, "Please, please, my dear Mother, You know that Your Son cannot deny You anything. You know what it’s like to lose a child. Please let me keep mine, but if it is God’s will, then let His will be done."
My mother finished praying and begged the secretary not to put Our Lady back in the storage room, and she sadly walked away. She went back to the hospital and we were all around my brother and we joined hands together and we prayed for him.
He was unconscious at the time. The pain was very severe and he was receiving morphine shots, so many that he was not able to stay awake. After that prayer, the following day, the doctors came. They were always taking bone marrow from him to test for leukemia. The doctor, as we waited for the results, didn’t say a word. He only said, "You have to wait out in the hall."
They called two other doctors in and they were talking about it. They took more bone marrow from him, they thought there was a mistake in the results. A couple of weeks passed by and they were still surprised about something.
During that time, Ricky was getting better. Then, all of a sudden, he woke up and he said to my mom, "I don’t feel any pain, and I feel really good." And suddenly, his digestive system started working again. That’s when the doctor called my parents into the office and told them, "I have no idea what happened."
"We can only say that this is a miracle, but there is no sign of leukemia in his blood, no trace."
I want to say Who was responsible for this. It was Our Lady. And we are eternally grateful to Her, so, you’ve got to pray to Her; She is always there. Whether it is an image of Her or not, She’s always there with us. Never stop believing!
