Introducing the
New Executive Director

Father Nicholas Gruner is the new Vice President and Executive Director of the National Committee for the National Pilgrim Virgin of Canada. He was born and raised in Canada and received his Bachelor of Commerce in 1964 from McGill University before going on for his studies in Philosophy and Theology. Since then, he received the Bachelor’s degree in Sacred Theology and the Licentiate degree in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome and has completed the courses for his Doctorate in Theology. The subject of his Licentiate thesis is Mary’s Motherhood of men in the order of Grace.

Father Nicholas has made pilgrimages to Our Lady’s shrines of Fatima, Lourdes, La Salette, Aylesford, and the Holy House of Loreto in Italy. He has also made pilgrimages to the famous Canadian shrines of St. Joseph, St. Anne, and Our Lady of the Cape, as well as the great Marian shrine in North America, Our Lady of Guadalupe. Father considers it a great blessing to have been in the same town with Padre Pio during the last six months of Padre’s life, and to have been present at his funeral.

Father Nicholas speaks English as his first language but is not lost for words in Italian though he is sure he makes some mistakes in Italian grammar. He has been told that he speaks French with a good accent.

Father has taught in Canada, England, the United States, and Italy. He has taught the Catholic Faith to elementary and secondary students as well as seminarians.

It is Father’s firm conviction that we are in great need of recognizing Mary as Our Mother and that we must honor Her more. In particular we must pay much more serious attention to Her greatest series of apparitions which have been approved by the Roman Catholic Church, especially those at Fatima.

We welcome Father Nicholas Gruner as Vice President and Executive Director and wish him every success in this his new apostolate.

He has spent many years studying. As a result, he knows the value of prayer, sacrifices and good works. He will, with God’s help and our cooperation, be able to use the gifts of mind and heart God gave him in order to make Our Lord and Our Lady better known and loved. Please pray for him too so that he will be able to fulfill all that Our Heavenly Mother expects of him in this great work of the Fatima Crusade. May he be with us for a long time to come!
